The worlds of architects, architecture and construction can be difficult to navigate.

In the early stages before a project begins to hatch, or at the end if there has been a problem, clients and legal teams may benefit from the advice of an experienced professional: one who is not concerned with gaining a building commission nor conflicted should a dispute arise.

A straightforward ally.

I have therefore divided my offering into three sections:

Consultancy

Many people – particularly domestic clients – only become involved in building schemes once in their lives. In over 30 years of architectural practice, I have seen how a helping hand could greatly benefit clients before they arrive at an architect’s office.

From a different perspective I have acted in numerous disputes, planning inquiries and appeals; here the need for an experienced professional capable of taking instruction and explaining technical matters clearly and succinctly, in writing and in person, has been paramount.

Thirdly there is a dearth of general discussion and coverage of design, and in particular of buildings, in Britain and precious little on planning. This can lead to widespread frustration, bewilderment and disappointment. I want to help overcome this by writing and speaking about architecture, planning and design straightforwardly and without jargon.
